7102-78 MOIR Glasgow badger plane. James Moir was an uncommon plane and edge tool maker in Glasgow, Scotland, from 1836-1875. 17" long with 2-3/8" skewed James Howarth cutter with chipbreaker. Closed tote in good shape with mild wear, tip of tote short but looks original rather than smoothed break. Has a few checks in body, user name stamped deep into left cheek, right cheek has the escapement where the cutter protrudes slightly and a few mild checks in the cheek plus some hangholes in front and rear of cheek. Good (HNL087) 65-130
