7004-123 Mortise gauge. 10" handruled stem with brass cap and iron plate along one side, sliding blade in cap, head has iron plate and locks with an unusual sliding wedge, broken off at one end, marked "I.W. Smith New Bedford." An unusually well made gauge, noting some staining around the iron plates and some checks. Good 40 - 80 (PLH1035)
